Thessaloniki Cultural Life Guide for Students

Thessaloniki is the student capital of Greece and for years has been densely populated by college students. As of right now, there are about 14,000 undergraduate students in the city, which counts for about 15% of the active population. Therefore nightlife is a major part of the city's culture. Ranking high in the list of options are numerous bars, tavernas, Greek cuisine restaurants, ouzeris and clubs with modern EDM/Trap music.

In the city centre, Ladadika has been a favorite nightlife area for the past couple decades; the neighboring Kalapothaki Street, the cafes and bars by the old beachfront add to the picture. The majority of the students living in town prefer to hang out in the area about Navarinou Square.
