It is recommended that you download the latest Firefox edition in your personal computer.

As soon as you restart your computer, you will see a bar with the Zotero logo at the bottom of your Firefox window. Clicking on it will bring up a pane where you can create and edit your library. The Zotero pane closes by clicking on the x icon in the upper right corner of it, or by clicking on the logo again.

The information is organized from the left to the right. The left pane contains your collections and folders in alphabetical order; the central pane shows the contents of each folder, and the right pane includes citation information for each of your items, as well as any Notes, Tags, and Related articles you have included.

Register
You need to register in order to create your online account. Once you have registered for an account you will be able to sync your Zotero library to the cloud and create group libraries.

Personalize your Zotero library by clicking on Preferences in the Zotero pane
Sync
The Preferences window has many tags, amongst them the Sync tab that allows you to sync your citations with your online account and access them through multiple computers.

Full-text searching of your PDF files is also recommended. Go to Preferences and then select the Search tab to install the latest version of the installer. This will also give you the ability to drag PDFs to Zotero and retreive their metadata automatically.
