Famous people from all over the world who loved animals and dedicated their lives to them. They were scientists, activists, artists, etc.

Jane Goodall, Rosalynn Carter, Charles Darwin, Wangari Maathai, David AttenboroughJacques-Yves Cousteau, Eugene Clark, Maria Merian.

Jane Goodall

Jane Goodal is a British zoologist and is considered an expert on chipanzees. She studied them for over 55 years in Tanzania doing a thorough close-up research on them.

Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was an English scientist who studied nature and is known for his theory of evolution by natural selection.

David Attenborough

David Attenborough is an English broadcaster and writer who was noted for his innovative educational programs on television on natural history.

Rosalynn Carter

Rosalynn Carter was the First Lady of the US (1977-1981), spouse of President Jimmy Carter. Her passion to butterflies made her create a garden.

Wangari Maathai

Wangari Maathai was a Kenyan politician and an environmentalist. She struggled among others for environmental protection and she was the first African woman to win the Nobel Prize. 

Jacques-Yves Cousteau

Jacques-Yves Cousteau was a well known French ocean explorer. He was also a filmmaker of documentaries about the sea and he motivated people to protect and conserve maritime life.

Eugenie Clark

Eugenie Clark was a notable American ichthyologist who studied sharks. She also worked on promoting marine conservation.

Maria Merian

Maria Merian was a German naturalist and artist. She is famous for her illustrations of insects.
