Here are a few ideas you can apply to your routine to improve and make easier the studying process. ADHD can be a challenge but everyone should have the choice to enjoy reading time!
Tips & Ideas :
Reading sessions can last long hours and thus discourage you from reading at all. Taking small breaks can do wonders. You can even follow the 50/10 rule. You only have to focus on studying for fifty minutes and then take a ten-minute break to rest and refresh. Studying in the library can make that task easier as you have more options rather the bedroom-to-kitchen route. Take a walk and explore our book collection or sit outside for a bit and be surrounded by nature.
There is a 90% chance that you'll start loving reading books if you find something that appeals to your interests. Finding such a book can seem like too much or too distracting. However, our New book collection, which is displayed in a clear and easy-to-find place, can help you make the start. If you need any recommendations the librarians are always there to help you.
Distractions when reading are something most people cannot tolerate. ADHD can make that even more difficult. Sometimes even the library is not sufficient. Think again! Try using our quiet room. A soundproof room that turns off all the outer noises and helps you focus better. Any further information can be found on our library's website.
If you like listening to music while studying, a little bit of jazz, white noise, or simply relaxing background music, we can offer you our library's equipment. Anyone who wishes can borrow headphones for in-library use and make studying more fun and exciting, or isolate any outside noise and focus better.
