Nonfiction Print Collection Update

Oxford Very Short Introductions provide concise, engaging, and expert-written overviews of diverse subjects, combining facts, analysis, and new insights to make complex topics highly readable and expand core knowledge.

The library team worked towards the transition to the new EBSCO Discovery Service user interface, which offers a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, enhancing the research journey.

The process of updating our print collection is ongoing, and the Geography & History section is currently being updated. We aim to make it more current and relevant to MYP and DP history and geography units, as well as local and Greek history.

Spaces

We’ve made some exciting updates to our library spaces!

New posters have been added throughout the library, covering MYP & DP related topics, academic integrity, research, reading, and our e-collections to help students explore digital resources and to inspire and guide them.

The computer area now features new and updated desktop computers for improved access.

Additionally, our tables have been renovated sustainably, giving old furniture a fresh new life.

Hosted Events

CRE8 art workshops

The CRE8 initiative brought creativity to life at the Library, engaging younger students in a variety of artistic activities. Organized by eleven IBDP students, the event featured eight interactive stations, including jewelry making, painting, photography, origami, and ceramics. The event successfully raised funds for the school's Scholarship Program, making it a meaningful and inspiring experience for all involved.

South Madagascar photography exhibition by Athena Perka

This powerful exhibition offered a glimpse into a world where the essentials are a luxury, and life unfolds in both hardship and authenticity. Through striking images from Southern Madagascar, students witnessed stories of resilience, faith, and hope, highlighting the strength of communities facing daily challenges with unwavering spirit.

Women in STEM

To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the library, in collaboration with the Women in STEM Club, prepared a special book display and resource guide. Students had the opportunity to explore inspiring stories of women scientists who have made groundbreaking contributions to STEM.

Student Library Assistants

Words. Podcast Club is a space where students become interviewers! We invite guests to share insights on life, books, and reading habits, while also hosting booktalks where students discuss books they’ve read. It’s all about great conversations, new perspectives, and a love for reading!

In ReadWave Club, we explore book-related tools like Goodreads, dive into magazines, podcasts, and quizzes, and share interesting things we’ve read, seen, or listened to throughout the week. It’s a fun and engaging space to discover new ideas, learn together, and make reading even more exciting!

Our Student Library Assistants have been actively preparing creative book displays, enhancing the Global Tales guide, and assisting with various daily library tasks. They play a valuable role in supporting our librarians, and we are so thankful for their hard work and dedication.
