Responding to the needs of the teaching community, the library recently acquired some individual titles of eBooks to facilitate access to material relevant to the current situation and enrich our Faculty Development Collection.

These titles are mostly about distance education and web-based instruction. You can read about educational technology and the effect of technological innovations in education. Some titles also refer to blended learning, flipped classrooms, and even open learning.

Issues such as effective teaching, the psychology of learning, and cognitive learning are also included, as well as motivation in education and academic achievement.

School administrators might also find useful titles relevant to leadership in education, school management and improvement programs, and evaluation in education.

Finally, in the book “Teach, breathe, learn: mindfulness in and out of the classroom” by Meena Srinivasan you can explore how mindfulness can be used as an effective tool in teaching and learning.

Educators working at all levels will find relevant content since there are titles concerning primary, secondary, and higher education.

Explore the entire list to find what best fits your needs and learn how to use the platform or download an eBook by visiting our guide.

You can find more resources on the topic in our guide Online Teaching and Learning

Understanding How We Learn by Yana Weinstein; Megan Sumeracki; Oliver Caviglioli
ISBN: 9780203710463 | Publication Date: 2018
Educational practice does not, for the most part, rely on research findings. Instead, there's a preference for relying on our intuitions about what's best for learning. But relying on intuition may be a bad idea for teachers and learners alike. This accessible guide helps teachers to integrate effective, research-backed strategies for learning into their classroom practice. The book explores exactly what constitutes good evidence for effective learning and teaching strategies, how to make evidence-based judgments instead of relying on intuition, and how to apply findings from cognitive psychology directly to the classroom.
